About this board game

Noctiluca is a 2019 board game for 1–4 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Players dive into shimmering waters to collect glowing noctiluca and deliver them to healers for points.

On the warmest nights of the year, dormant noctiluca awaken in the otherwise quiet waters. These mysterious glowing creatures are valued for their restorative properties, making them highly desired by healers across the land.

At the start of the game, 104 colorful translucent dice fill the pool on the board, representing the different noctiluca. Players take turns diving into the water from the edges of the shore, collecting dice from the board and keeping them safely in jars until they can complete deliveries.

• Collect colorful translucent noctiluca dice from the pool.
• Store your finds in jars until they can be delivered.
• Compare points from successful deliveries after two rounds.

Each dive brings more noctiluca into your jars, while completed deliveries provide the points that determine the winner. After two rounds, players compare their scores from successful deliveries, and the player with the most points wins.

A double-sided game board also provides a solo mode. In this version, one player must rescue the noctiluca from the tempest, offering a different way to experience Noctiluca alone.
