About this board game

Nocturion is a dice-rolling worker placement and resource management board game for 2–4 players, with an average play time of 70 minutes.

The Evergreen Empire stands on the brink of annihilation after a deadly elemental invasion. Although the invasion has been thwarted, the young Emperor Alexius IV must restore his people’s lost wealth and dignity. He cannot protect the realm alone, so he turns to the powerful Noble Houses of Evergreen.

Each player takes the role of one of these houses, competing to prove its loyalty and worthiness. The house that earns the Emperor’s trust may be placed in charge in the Capital as the first among “equals.” Since the Noble Houses have their own interests and rarely work together, players must pursue their ambitions while answering the Emperor’s demands.

During the game, players gather resources, complete quests, and search for their legendary heirlooms. They also forge mighty armies of Beasts, each with variable asymmetric powers that shape how a house can pursue victory.

The player with the most victory points wins. The 2025 second edition of Nocturion includes a streamlined rulebook, new monster abilities, and updated quests designed to improve gameplay, reduce downtime, and enhance the overall experience.
