About this board game

Nostra City is a 60-minute game for 3–5 players about rival crime-family lieutenants managing their syndicate and manipulating a sensational trial in 1990s New York.

The Godfather, Johnny Gota, has been arrested and faces 246 charges, from extortion to homicide. If he is found guilty, he may spend the rest of his life in a locked subterranean cell. But he has promised that, if cleared, he will retire and leave his position to the lieutenant who best looks after the Family while he is away.

With the Don’s future—and the syndicate’s leadership—at stake, the players must work to protect the Family’s business and secure a favorable verdict. Corrupting the jury, eliminating witnesses, and using bribery all become part of the struggle surrounding the trial, while a separate race for honor begins among the lieutenants.

Not every player shares the same goal. Some want Johnny Gota cleared so the established order can continue, while others want him convicted so they can claim the Family by force—or because they are secretly working for the FBI.

Nostra City presents a fictional-reality crime story inspired by the cruel, violent world of gangster movies. Beneath a tradition of silence and loyalty, everything is permitted, and every lieutenant’s actions can affect the verdict, the Family’s future, and the contest for power.
