About this board game
Odd World is a card game for 2–5 players that takes about 25 minutes, challenging players to collect planets while ensuring their final counts stay odd.
Each card presents two planets, numbered 1–9, on its top side. Its bottom side shows one of those two planets. After shuffling, the cards are divided into two decks, creating the stacks used during play.
- Take: Draw the top card from either stack.
- Choose: Keep the card or give it to another player.
- Reveal: The player who has the card flips it over and adds it to their collection.
Play continues until all the cards have been claimed or someone has at least one card showing every number from 1 through 9. The collection process is only part of the challenge: having more cards does not automatically mean a higher score.
To score, examine each numeral separately. If you have an even number of cards showing a particular number, discard all of those cards. Cards remaining after this odd-number check are counted, and the player with the most cards wins.
That simple scoring rule makes every collection decision matter. A card may strengthen your position, but it may also turn a useful odd total into an even one. In Odd World, players must decide whether to claim a card themselves or pass it to another player while watching the numbers in every collection.
Crazy Birds uses the same rules, with players collecting birds instead of planets.
