About this board game

Of Dreams & Shadows is a cooperative dark-fantasy board game for 2–6 players, with sessions lasting about 180 minutes. Players take on the roles of Champions struggling to save their realm from dangers stirring in ancient ruins, untamed forests, and the underworld.

Each game unfolds as a collaborative story directed by the players’ actions on the board. Scenarios introduce encounters and conflicts that are resolved by passing a test or making a choice, with the consequences advancing the storyline and shaping a unique experience.

Success is not guaranteed. Failing a test can bring debilitating Afflictions, while many Scenarios present moral dilemmas in which helping the cause demands a sacrifice. Every decision can change the path ahead as the Champions confront a growing supernatural threat.

Opposing the players is one of three selectable Villains, each supported by a host of deadly servants. With more than 30 different enemies to face, and every enemy possessing its own special ability, flexible tactics and close teamwork are essential in combat.
