About this board game

One Card Wonder is a resource-management and construction game for 2–6 players, with games lasting about 30 minutes. Released in 2022, it challenges each player to complete an ancient wonder shown on their card while developing a personal set of support buildings.

Your wonder must be built from the ground up, one stage at a time, but its support buildings can be constructed in any order. Four worker meeples mark individual buildings as they are completed, unlocking their abilities as your development progresses.

On your turn, choose one of four actions:

  • Draw three resource cubes from the cloth supply bag, keep two, and place the other in the general supply.
  • Take all resources of one type from the general supply, while respecting your eight-resource storage limit.
  • Build a wonder level or support building by paying its cost from your personal supply.
  • Sell pairs of matching goods for coins, which can act as wild resources or contribute to certain wonder costs.

The supply bag moves from player to player, identifying the active player. Resources spent or sold return to the bag, while the general supply offers another way to gather what you need. Careful timing matters, since your limited personal storage can force you to return excess resources.

In games with four or more players, off-turn trading adds negotiation to the race. Players may freely arrange deals with one another, but negotiations stop when a player receives the supply bag and becomes active.

Whether you are drawing cubes, unlocking building abilities, or converting goods into flexible coins, One Card Wonder keeps every decision focused on completing your personal wonder. The first player to finish their wonder wins.
