About this board game

One Night Werewolf is a hidden-role game for 3–7 players that takes about 10 minutes to play. It offers a simplified Werewolf experience built around a single night phase and a single day phase.

At the start, players are dealt roles that remain hidden for the duration of the game. During the night, players with the Sorcerer, Werewolves, and Phantom Thief roles each wake up and perform their special action for 10 seconds.

When night ends, the day phase begins. Players discuss who they believe the werewolves are—or whether there are any werewolves at all—before the group makes its final decision.

All players vote simultaneously for a player. The player who receives the most votes is killed, making the final vote the central moment of the game.

  • Players: 3–7
  • Play time: approximately 10 minutes
  • Structure: one night phase followed by one day phase
  • Core tension: hidden roles, secret night actions, discussion, and simultaneous voting

The winning team depends on the outcome of that vote. If at least one werewolf is killed, the Human team wins. If no werewolf is killed, the Werewolf team wins.

With its focused structure and short play time, One Night Werewolf centers the experience on deduction, discussion, and the uncertainty created by hidden identities. Players must use the information available after the night phase to decide whom to vote for before the game’s single decisive outcome.
