About this board game

OPEN is a climbing and shedding game for 2–4 players that takes about 15 minutes to play. Each player plays with four of their six cards face up on the table, making much of the hand visible while the race to get rid of cards begins.

At the start of every hand, players secretly bet on which player they think will play all of their cards first. This prediction adds a layer of deduction to the card play: you are not only managing your own cards, but also judging who is most likely to go out ahead of everyone else.

Points are awarded to every player except the last one to go out. Additional points go to players whose secret predictions correctly identify the first player to finish. The result is a compact contest where successful card shedding and accurate reading of the table both matter.

Hands continue across multiple rounds, with play lasting until one player reaches a given score. Once that happens, the player with the most points wins.
