About this board game

Orcs Orcs Orcs is a 2–4 player deck-building and tower-defense game with an approximately 45-minute play time, released in 2014. Players take the roles of mages defending a central tower while competing in the Orc Squash Tournament.

The mages begin on top of the tower at the center of a battlefield made up of six lanes, each divided into three sectors. Orcish hordes advance along these lanes toward the tower, so players must cast spells and defeat the creatures before they reach their destination.

At the start of every round, players draw a fate card. This card determines which category of creatures advances one sector toward the tower and may also introduce a special rule for that round. The game includes three categories of orcs, each with different strengths and special abilities that are conveyed to a player when an orc is defeated.

  • Deck building: Develop your available cards as you battle.
  • Tower defense: Stop the orcs before they can reach the central tower.
  • Fate cards: Control which creatures advance and sometimes alter the rules for a round.
  • Competitive scoring: Turn defeated orcs and learned support spells into points.

The game ends when you run out of orcs on one of the four lanes. During final scoring, players count their defeated orcs and multiply that total by the number on the creature counter. They also gain points for each support spell learned and lose points for every poison card in their deck.

In Orcs Orcs Orcs, surviving the advancing hordes is only part of the challenge. The player with the highest final score is declared the Master Mage.
