About this board game

Otys is an optimization and development board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Set in the mid-22nd century, it takes place after rising waters have engulfed the last emerged lands and survivor settlements struggle to remain above sea level.

As the leader of a diver team, you must retrieve useful debris from the depths and use it to build humanity’s future. Recover materials, fulfill contracts offered by the Colony, and earn more notoriety than your opponents. Your divers have different special abilities and operate at different depths, while their oxygen supply is limited.

Plan every dive

Each player’s divers are arranged in a column on an individual board, with depth gauges marking levels from 1 to 5. On your turn, choose an available gauge, perform the action at that depth on the shared game board, then use the ability of your diver at the matching depth.

After completing the mission, that diver returns to the surface, pushing the other divers down the queue. The used depth gauge moves to the bottom of your board and only becomes available again when your gauge meter is full. At first, you must use all six gauges before recovering any, but improving the meter gives you more frequent choices.

• Match diver abilities with Colony bonuses.
• Retrieve and store items at their appropriate depths.
• Complete shared or personal objectives when the required items align.
• Race to be the first player to score 18 points.

Otys challenges you to coordinate depth, timing, oxygen, abilities, and rewards. Manage your team efficiently to supply the best contracts and claim victory for your colony.
