About this board game

Overbooking is a game for 2–4 players with a playing time of about 30 minutes, in which guests compete for places in a limited number of hotel rooms.

A king is preparing a grand royal party for his daughter, drawing thousands of guests to the capital. Traveling merchants, monks, soldiers, and many others have arrived, but nobody pre-booked a room because everyone was waiting for last-minute discounts.

Now the race for accommodation begins. Each player uses their guest cards to try to place guests in the few available hotels. Every hotel can accommodate only a certain number of guests, so there may not be enough room for everyone.

To succeed, you must judge how many guests your opponents will send into the competition. You also need to anticipate the devious plans they may use to disrupt your attempt to secure a place.

• Place guest cards in the available hotels.
• Manage hotels with limited guest capacity.
• Predict your opponents’ choices and plans.
• Collect points by getting guests into the hotels.

Some guests will find a place to sleep, while others will be left outside. Those who can exploit a nasty trick may even make it through the back door, adding another twist to the struggle for rooms.

With its crowded hotels, uncertain numbers, and rival schemes, Overbooking centers on reading the table and competing for space before the last room is taken. The game was released in 2022.
