About this board game

PanzerBlitz: Hill of Death – The Battle for Hill 112, Normandy 1944 is a two-player board wargame with an approximately 300-minute playing time, covering the battle between British and German forces for control of Hill 112 and the surrounding countryside.

Players take command of infantry and armor units as they contest key terrain features on Hill 112 and nearby objectives. The historical battle lasted for more than four weeks, with the hill and surrounding objectives changing hands several times.

The game uses a modernized system built around many of the core concepts of the original PanzerBlitz system from the 1970s. At the same time, PanzerBlitz: Hill of Death removes some of the original system’s “gameyness,” offering a revised approach to this Normandy conflict.

The game scale places each turn at 15 minutes, each hex at 273 yards / 250 meters, and each unit at platoon strength. This scale frames the contest around the movement and commitment of infantry and armored forces across the dominant terrain feature.
