About this expansion

Paperback: Unabridged is a modular expansion for Paperback for 1–5 players, adding 80 cards, 16 new covers, new abilities, and fresh ways to shape your words and strategy.

Build around lowercase Letter Cards, a new type of victory card. These are not wilds: they provide cents when played and can provide Fame based on how many cards with the same letter you purchase during the game.

New Starting Wilds can stand for any letter, but choosing a specific vowel triggers an ability that can enhance your strategy. The common card supply also gains the harder-to-use vowels U and Y, while 12 new Fame Cards introduce new values and brand-new art by Ryan Goldsberry.

• Asterisk Cards: Get wilds into your deck without sacrificing cents later.
• Typos: Wrong-key cards that can consume your victory cards unless you remove them.
• 3-Letter Cards: More challenging to use, but helpful for spelling longer words.
• Dumpster Dive: Recycle old letters from the trash pile, whether played by you or another player.
• Conditional Word Cards: Earn bonuses by meeting requirements such as using a card as the second letter, spelling words with repeating letters, starting with a vowel, or using no wild cards.
