Pass the Bomb: Party Edition

About this board game

Pass the Bomb: Party Edition is a word game for 2–12 players, with games lasting around 25 minutes. Released in 2007, it combines the original Pass the Bomb format with four additional card categories and a category die.

To begin, place five cards from each of the four new decks, along with five cards from the original type, face down. At the start of each round, roll the category die to determine which deck provides the card for that round, then players respond according to its challenge.

• Movers: Use one of two letters on the card to name a famous person whose name starts with that letter. Using both letters for the person’s first name and surname exempts you from playing that round.
• Mixers: Answer a question such as “What is in your pencil case?” by calling out an associated word.
• Makers: Create new words by placing the printed word at the beginning or end, such as turning BED into BUNKBED or BEDROOM.
• Shakers: Rearrange the jumbled letters on the card to make at least a four-letter word.

The die also includes a joker, allowing any of the five decks to be chosen. If the bomb is rolled, the standard version is played, with the bomb die determining where the letters can be used as in the normal Pass the Bomb rules.

With varied prompts and several ways to form answers, Pass the Bomb: Party Edition offers a broad mix of wordplay challenges while retaining the familiar original style.
