About this board game

Patriots & Redcoats is a hidden-identity card game for 4–10 players, playable in about 25 minutes. Set in 1776 during the American fight for independence, it places players on opposing teams: the Americans seeking independence and the British trying to stop the rebellion.

Each player is secretly assigned to the Patriots or Redcoats. Trust is uncertain, because spies and turncoats may be among you. To succeed, your team must identify its opponents while protecting its own Leader.

• Locate and assassinate the opposing Leader.
• Win four Victories on the Battlefield.

Either achievement can secure victory, turning every decision into a struggle between open conflict, suspicion, and deception. The game’s bluffing and take-that elements reflect a war in which loyalties are hidden and every player may have an agenda of their own.

Inspired by the dramatic beginning of the American Revolution, Patriots & Redcoats asks whether the signers of the Declaration of Independence are founding a nation or risking the hangman’s noose. Across America’s thirteen colonies, defiance is only the beginning; winning the war is the real challenge.

Released in 2018, Patriots & Redcoats combines secret teams, concealed identities, assassination targets, and Battlefield Victories in a compact confrontation about the Revolutionary War. Read the table, question allegiance, and help your side prevail before the opposing Leader is found.
