Pax Renaissance: 2nd Edition – Age of Reformation Promo Cards is a 2022 promo pack for 1–4 players, designed for use with the game’s 1550 Map Variant. It adds new cards and overlays that support an alternate-history vision of Byzantium surviving the Fourth Crusade’s Sack of Constantinople.

In this scenario, the Byzantine Empire may suppress the rise of the Ottoman Turks, seek support from Orthodox Russia, and potentially find allies among Austria and France after the Catholic-Protestant split. The premise imagines whether the Second Rome could survive into the present day as a Greek state with traces of Roman influence.

The pack contains a focused collection of additions for the 1550 setup:

• 3 new Empire cards, including replacements for the Ottoman and Hungary Empire cards, plus a new Papal States card for specific Reformation or Muslim Theocracy developments.
• 9 new Market cards: 5 western and 4 eastern cards to mix into their respective decks.
• 2 new Map cards for the starting Hungary and Ottoman medieval states.
• 1 new Victory Square, used alongside the original squares for a total of five.
• 2 Banker overlay cards featuring Alvaro Mendes and Cornelius Berenberg.

Several setup changes accompany the cards. Use Reformist Theocracies for the starting England and HRE states, while Trebizond starts busted instead of the Red Sea. The new Banker overlays are placed on existing Banker placards, and any Banker placard may be replaced.
