Piece o’ Cake is a 20-minute game for 2–5 players about dividing five cakes into slices and choosing how to score them.

Everyone knows the classic cake rule: one person cuts, and another chooses. That approach encourages the divider to make the portions as equal as possible, so nobody receives the short end. In Piece o’ Cake, however, clever offers can turn that familiar idea upside down.

The cakes contain 11 slices of different varieties, and each variety awards a different number of points. As the slices are divided, players must decide whether to take points immediately or hold slices in the hope of earning bonus points at the end of the game.

• Divide and choose: use the cake-cutting principle of offering pieces for another player to select.
• Score now: eat slices immediately to guarantee a number of points.
• Collect for later: gather a variety and aim for the bonus awarded to the player with the most of it.

Taking the largest piece is not always the best choice. A player may offer larger pieces to others while still arranging to receive the most valuable share, making every division a test of judgment.

To win in Piece o’ Cake, skilled dividers need to consider both the value of each variety and what opponents are collecting. Keep a close eye on their pieces, balance guaranteed points against potential bonuses, and try to finish with the highest score.
