Pigeon Explosion

About this board game

Pigeon Explosion is a card game for 2–5 players with approximately 30 minutes of play time, in which players feed pigeons to make their own birds happy—or make opponent pigeons explode.

Players take turns clockwise, beginning with the first player. On each turn, choose one of two actions: Search or Feed. Search lets you draw two cards from the Search deck. When that deck is exhausted, shuffle its discard pile to create a new draw pile.

Choose Feed to play up to two cards from your hand, using Food and Action cards in any combination allowed by the game. There is one important restriction: during your turn, you can play only one Food card on opponent Pigeons.

• Search: Draw two cards from the Search deck.
• Feed: Play up to two Food and/or Action cards.
• Opponent feeding: Play no more than one Food card on opponent Pigeons per turn.

The central challenge is balancing your own pigeons’ needs with opportunities to disrupt your opponents. Feed your pigeons the correct amount of food to make them happy, while trying to prevent them from exploding. At the same time, carefully chosen plays can target opponent pigeons and push them toward an explosive outcome.

The first player to achieve the required number of Happy Pigeons wins. Depending on the number of players, that target is either two or three Happy Pigeons, giving every game a clear race toward victory.
