Pikoko

About this board game

Pikoko is a trick-taking game for 3–5 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Released in 2018, it follows conventional trick-taking rules while adding two unusual twists that transform how players view and use their cards.

At the start of each round, every player receives a hand of eight cards. The catch is that you do not see your own hand. Instead, you can see the cards held by the other players, creating an unusual situation in which your available information comes from everyone else’s cards.

Pikoko also changes who controls which cards. Rather than playing from your own hand, you play cards belonging to the player on your left. Your decisions therefore depend on cards you can see, but do not personally hold.
