About this board game

Pitchstorm is a party card game for 3–12 players that takes about 60 minutes to play. Players become unprepared writers pitching movie ideas to the world’s worst executives.

Each round, one player takes the role of the executive while everyone else creates a pitch using a character card and a plot card. The goal is to present an entertaining movie idea based on those prompts before the executive makes the assignment even more difficult.

At any point during a pitch, the executive can play a note card. The writer must then add the note’s terrible new element to the movie, forcing the pitch to change as it unfolds. The result is a series of increasingly ridiculous movie concepts that players must explain on the spot.

• Build pitches from character and plot cards.
• Adapt to unexpected note cards from the executive.
• Compete for the executive’s approval at the end of each round.

After all the pitches are finished, the executive chooses the movie they liked best. The player behind the winning pitch scores a point, and the game continues with the next round.

With groups of 6–12, Pitchstorm supports team play. Players split into teams of two and work together to pitch their movie, while two executives oversee the round. Each executive can play a note card onto a pitch, creating even more absurd challenges for the writing teams.

Released in 2018, Pitchstorm combines improvisation, creative storytelling, and unpredictable card prompts in a party game about turning bad ideas into unforgettable pitches.
