About this board game

Pixel Tactics 2 is a head-to-head tactical combat game for two players, with games taking about 45 minutes. Each player uses an identical deck of 25 cards and drafts a leader whose abilities can dramatically change how the rest of the deck plays.

Every leader creates a different strategic challenge. Their abilities alter the strategy and playability of the other cards, making the game playable in 25 different ways. Choosing a leader is therefore a central decision that shapes your approach to the battle.

Players take turns placing cards and attacking. Cards can activate in several ways depending on where they are used: in the front rows, they can gain offensive capabilities, while in the back rows, they can provide valuable support powers.

  • Draft a leader from your 25-card deck.
  • Deploy cards into front or back rows for different capabilities.
  • Use orders as powerful, single-time effects.
  • Attack until your opponent’s leader is defeated.

Cards can also be played as orders, creating powerful one-time effects that may turn the tide of battle. Success comes from managing your available cards, exploiting your leader’s abilities, and choosing the right moment to commit an order.

Play continues until one player’s leader is defeated. A typical game is played as the best of three or five rounds, giving players opportunities to adapt across multiple battles.

Pixel Tactics 2 takes place in the same world as Level 99 Games’ BattleCON: War of Indines and features many of the same characters. However, its gameplay is entirely unrelated, offering a distinct tactical experience built around card placement, leader selection, and direct combat.
