About this board game

Pocket Rockets is a 20-minute board game for 2–4 players in which astronauts build rockets by collecting and assembling colorful parts.

Each game begins with an assembly plant formed from six special cards. Astronaut pawns move around this circle, stopping at different locations to perform specific tasks. The available actions shape how players gather parts, manage fuel, and develop their rockets.

Face-up cards show rocket bases, fuselages, or tips in three different colors. Players can draw these cards, add parts to their rockets, take fuel tokens, or change the direction of rotation around the assembly plant. This creates a compact system in which movement and timing determine which opportunities are available.

  • Collect rocket bases, fuselages, and tips in three colors.
  • Move astronaut pawns around a six-card assembly plant.
  • Take fuel tokens, with earlier fuel being more valuable than later fuel.
  • Use special privileges granted by some rocket tips.

Rocket tips do more than finish a design: some grant special privileges that can influence a player’s options. Fuel is also limited, and the first fuel taken is more valuable than the last, making the shrinking reserves an important part of the game’s progression.

When the fuel reserves are exhausted, the game ends and players compare their completed rockets. In Pocket Rockets, the winner is the astronaut with the most fuselages, giving every collected part and fuel decision a role in the race to build successfully.
