Polite Society: The Jane Austen Board Game is a game for 2–5 players that takes around 30 minutes to play. Players compete to gather characters from Jane Austen’s world and complete their ultimate dinner party table.

Welcome familiar heroines, heroes, unwanted suitors, and overbearing relatives to your table. From Elizabeth Bennet to Emma Woodhouse, each character brings the flavour of Austen’s society to the game, while societal assets—wit, wealth, heart, and beauty—help shape your progress.

Where a character sits matters. The better the seat at your table, the more likely that character is to generate assets each turn. Carefully collect guests and make the most of your seating arrangement as you work toward completing your table before your fellow players.

Every card also features a unique quote from one of Jane Austen’s full-length novels: Emma, Northanger Abbey, Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, or Sense and Sensibility. Some quotes come from Jane Austen’s personal letters, adding a literary detail to every guest you collect.
