About this board game

Portals is an abstract game akin to chess for 1–4 players, with an approximately 80-minute playing time. Players use spatial reasoning and visualize sequences as they draft fabulous Elemental stones and complete shapes shown on Key cards.

When a Key card is completed, it can be activated to fill an Elemental board with stones. Victory Points come from matching colors and creating adjacency, making every placement an important part of your developing design. The game rewards careful observation, planning, and the ability to recognize useful spatial patterns.

Portals is easy to learn but hard to master, allowing players to begin quickly while offering room to improve over repeated games. Because players share everything with one another, the game creates close interaction: taking an appealing stone or pursuing a particular shape can inevitably disrupt someone else’s plans.
