About this board game

Professor Pünschge is a deduction game for 2–7 players, with games lasting about 30 minutes, in which players work out the route the professor is using to get home from his laboratory.

The board shows a numbered path from the lab to the house. Every space combines several characteristics, including color, weather, terrain, and various icons. These details provide the information needed to identify the route.

On each turn, one player draws a route card and marks the first two spaces of the professor’s path. The other players then study the board and try to deduce the next spaces in the correct order. A wrong answer gives the active player a point, while the other players score by solving the route.

  • 702 different routes offer substantial variety.
  • Simple routes include every even-numbered space or all spaces with three icons.
  • More complex routes can involve forests without owls or clouds, or green spaces on the upper half of the board.
  • Both cooperative and competitive variants are included.

The route cards range from immediately recognizable patterns to layered combinations of board features. Players must compare the marked spaces with the available characteristics, identify the underlying rule, and predict what comes next.

Whether everyone is solving the route together or competing for points, Professor Pünschge turns a numbered path into a changing logic puzzle. Its broad selection of routes supports repeated deduction challenges while keeping the central task clear: discover the professor’s journey home, one space at a time.
