About this board game
Psycho Killer is a satirical retro-horror card game for 2–6 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. Use weapons, evade the killer, and try to survive with fewer injury points than your opponents.
Each turn, you may play as many cards from your hand as you like, but your turn must end by drawing the top card of the deck. You can also draw without playing a card first, leaving you to decide when to act and when to take your chances.
The deck contains five Psycho Killer cards alongside weapon cards. When someone draws a Psycho Killer card, they must play it face up in front of themselves unless they can evade the Psycho Killer. If they cannot, every player holding a weapon card in hand is attacked.
Attacked players place their weapon cards face up on the table in front of them. These exposed cards form an Injury Pile, and their values become Injury Points. Both Psycho Killer cards and weapon cards are worth points, so the cards you collect can determine whether you survive the final reckoning.
- Play cards or draw directly from the deck.
- Evade the Psycho Killer when possible.
- Place weapons in Injury Piles when attacked.
- Finish with the lowest total of Injury Points to win.
The game ends when the last Psycho Killer card is drawn. With its familiar horror and slasher-film clichés, Psycho Killer invites you to use every trick available to disrupt your friends while attempting to stay out of danger yourself.
