Puzzle Strike: Third Edition is a card game for 2–4 players that plays in about 20 minutes, using cardboard chips instead of cards to simulate a puzzle video game such as Puzzle Fighter or Tetris.

It is also a deckbuilding game, so you build your deck as you play. The bank begins with a different set of chips each game, creating new possibilities from one session to the next. With 10 characters in the base set and more than 411 million starting conditions in a four-player game, every match can begin from a different position.

Each character offers different gameplay, while a built-in comeback mechanic gives players on the edge of losing the ability to make even bigger combos than usual. Rather than shuffling cards, place your cardboard tokens in a bag and shake them to randomize your deck.

The Third Edition adds rules and components designed to support varied group play and competitive sessions:

• Panic Time helps prevent games from going on too long.
• Three-player and four-player modes remove player elimination and let you crash your gems to whoever you want.
• A 2v2 Team Battle Mode supports team play.
• Custom Clockwork mode lets you draft your own character.
• Updated puzzle and character chips support healthy competitive play in tournaments.
• New game boards and privacy screens add to the components.
