About this board game

Quo Vadis? is a negotiation board game for 3–5 players, with play lasting about 45 minutes. Released in 1992, it places each player in control of a group of politicians seeking advancement through a network of committees and ultimately toward the Senate.

Players must seek support from their competitors to move their politicians upward. In this system, cooperation directly affects progress: supporting an opponent earns prestige, an important requirement for the final outcome. Every agreement can therefore contribute to another player’s advancement while also adding to your own standing.

The game centers on the relationship between political advancement, negotiation, and prestige. Players work through the committee network while trying to secure a place at the top, balancing the support they provide with the prestige they need to remain eligible for victory.

Once all five Senate positions have been filled, the game ends. However, only players who have a politician in the Senate can win. Among those eligible players, the winner is the one with the most prestige.
