About this board game
Quoridor Junior is a 2–4-player maze-racing board game with approximately 10 minutes of play time, released in 2004. Each player guides a mouse toward the opposite side of the board while building obstacles that can delay the other mice.
On a turn, a player may move their mouse one space at a time or install a blocker. These choices create a changing maze, turning a seemingly direct journey into a tactical challenge. A well-placed blocker can slow an opponent, but it may also make the route more difficult for everyone.
The maze is not only an obstacle for other players. As the paths develop, the barriers can delay the mouse that placed them as it approaches the finish line. Every decision therefore carries a risk: blocking an opponent may help, hinder, or affect all of the mice on the board.
Quoridor Junior uses a 7 × 7 board, compared with the 9 × 9 board used by Quoridor. Its compact layout keeps the focus on short routes, limited movement, and the evolving maze created during play.
With support for two to four players and a listed play time of about ten minutes, Quoridor Junior presents its central choices quickly:
- Move your mouse one space toward the opposite side.
- Install a blocker to delay an opponent.
- Navigate the maze that your decisions help create.
Whether advancing or obstructing, players must consider how the maze will affect every mouse, including their own.
