About this board game
Raas: A Dance of Love is a dice-drafting and tableau-building game for 1–6 players, with play time of approximately 90 minutes. Inspired by Garba Raas, the energetic folk dance of Gujarat, India, it brings color, rhythm, and tradition to the tabletop.
Lead your dance academy to glory by drafting dancers represented by colorful dice. Each die’s color and pip show a dancer’s style and rhythm, helping you assemble a troupe ready to perform a broad range of dance styles and tempos.
The game board features seven disks connected by a gear mechanism. Every disk holds six dancers specializing in different tempos and styles. Players draft dancers from the central dance floor, then develop their own personal dance troupe while planning ways to matchmake dancers and advance along the love track for powerful bonuses.
- Draft dancers: Choose dice whose colors and pips represent different styles and rhythms.
- Build your troupe: Arrange dancers in a personal tableau and expand the capabilities of your academy.
- Complete the look: Collect stunning dresses and give dancers dandiya sticks.
- Create performances: Match the style and tempo of the song to score points.
Points can come from matching the song’s tempo each round, meeting devotion goals, outfitting your troupe with dresses and dandiya sticks, and ensuring your dancers cover the full breadth of possible dance styles and tempos. The player who creates the best dance troupe wins.
With its rotating, gear-connected dance floor and colorful dice, Raas: A Dance of Love offers a celebration of Gujarati dance through drafting, tableau building, performance goals, and the pursuit of love-track bonuses.
