About this board game
Raise is an abstract family bidding game for 2–5 players that takes about 45 minutes to play. Compete across a series of point-worthy rounds, outbid your opponents, and manage your cards carefully so you are ready when the stakes rise.
At the start of the game, each player draws six cards. The starting player reveals the top point-card, rolls the dice, and places them beside the game board in spots sorted by their symbols. Everyone then chooses exactly one card from their hand and places it face down. All played cards are revealed simultaneously.
The value of each played card is determined by multiplying it by the number of matching symbols on the dice. Player tokens are then placed on the corresponding spaces of the board. From this point onward, the player whose token is furthest back—the player with the lowest value—takes the next turn.
- Play additional cards to increase your value.
- Pass when you decide not to play more cards.
- Continue until only one player remains in the round.
You cannot draw new cards during this phase, so every card you commit matters. The challenge is knowing when to keep raising and when to conserve your hand for a later opportunity. A well-timed decision can leave opponents behind, while spending too freely may leave you without the cards you need.
The game ends after a set number of rounds. Whoever has the most victory points at the end wins. With simultaneous card reveals, changing dice-based values, and a turn order driven by who is currently behind, Raise creates tense decisions in every round.
