About this board game
Raising Robots is a competitive, simultaneously played engine-building game for 1–6 players, with a play time of about 90 minutes. Released in 2023, it casts each player as a famous inventor seeking to assemble the greatest collection of robots.
Across eight rounds, everyone chooses and performs two or more actions at the same time. Your decisions determine how you develop your collection, while the amount of power assigned to each action affects how well it performs.
The available actions are:
- Upgrade
- Assemble
- Design
- Fabricate
- Recycle
Every action can be performed with a variable amount of power, making it better or worse depending on how much power you commit. This creates a distinctive balancing challenge: the most powerful actions do not benefit only the inventor who selects them, but also help opponents.
That shared benefit makes each simultaneous choice especially significant. You must pursue your own plans while considering how much assistance your strongest actions may provide to the other inventors at the table.
At the end of the eighth round, players compare their points. Whoever has the most points wins, making Raising Robots a focused contest of action selection, variable power, and engine building for up to six players.
