About this board game

ReCURRRing is a tactical card game for 3–5 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Players compete to win cards, build stronger plays, and finish with the most points after three rounds.

The deck contains 57 cards: one 1, two 2s, and so on up to nine 9s, plus a dozen R cards. With fewer than five players, some cards are removed from play. A 1 is the strongest single card, while pairs outrank singles, with a pair of 2s serving as the highest pair. R cards are the weakest.

  • Single cards and pairs: Play one or two cards to challenge the current play.
  • Escalating plays: Each new set must rank higher than the most recent one and can contain at most one more card.
  • Risky passes: Passing removes you from the rest of the round, so timing matters.

After the deck is dealt, the starting player leads with a single card. On each turn, a player may pass or play one or two higher-ranking cards, taking the previously played card or cards into their hand. The sequence continues until all players pass.

The cards in the center are then removed from play, and the player who played most recently leads the next round. If a player runs out of cards, the round ends and players score points for the cards they collected.

With its changing play sizes and valuable opportunities to capture cards, ReCURRRing rewards careful hand management and well-timed challenges. After three rounds, the player with the most points wins.
