About this board game

Red Flags is a game of terrible dates for 3–20 players, with a play time of about 15 minutes.

Each round, one player becomes The Single, the judge who must choose between the dates created by the other players. Everyone else uses Perk cards to build what they believe is the best possible date.

There is an unavoidable catch: every promising date can be sabotaged. Players may add Red Flags, representing bad traits, to another player’s date in an attempt to make it less appealing.

  • Perk cards: Create and improve a potential date.
  • Red Flags: Add terrible traits to undermine an opponent.
  • The Single: Judge the competing dates and choose which awful date wins.

Once the cards are played, each participant gets an opportunity to argue why their date is the best choice for The Single. The judge then weighs the appealing perks against the unfortunate red flags and selects a winner.

Red Flags combines card play, sabotage, and persuasion in a contest where every date has something going for it—and something terrible going against it. The result is a series of choices between competing awful dates, with the winner decided by the player serving as The Single.

Released in 2015, Red Flags offers a compact game experience built around creating, undermining, and defending potential dates.
