About this board game
Ricochet: A la poursuite du Comte courant is a solo or cooperative riddle game for 1–100 players, with a playing time of about 20 minutes. Released in 2020, it presents a chain of 30 riddles woven into a crazy secret-agent story.
In every riddle, the goal is to discover the last sentence of a dialogue. The answer is not simply written out: it emerges from a grid containing 25 words. Players must identify and hide 20 to 22 of those words, leaving the remaining words to be interpreted in the correct order.
- Read the 25-word grid and identify the words to hide.
- Keep the remaining words in the right order.
- Read them aloud to produce a hearing rebus.
- Use that rebus to find the dialogue’s missing final sentence.
The spoken result is central to the experience. Once the remaining words are read aloud, their sound forms a hearing rebus that points toward the sentence needed to continue the story.
Ricochet: A la poursuite du Comte courant combines association of ideas with a connected sequence of narrative riddles. It can be played alone or cooperatively, making the search for each missing line a shared deduction when played as a group. Across 30 linked puzzles, players follow the secret-agent story by solving one dialogue ending at a time.
