About this board game

Rise to Power is a city-building strategy card game for 2–6 players that takes about 45 minutes to play. In a futuristic world powered by an abundant energy source called PRISM, rival companies compete to meet the city’s power needs and expand their influence.

Players take turns extracting PRISMs and using them to fulfill district contracts offered by the government. Activating a district card expands your power grid capabilities while also increasing your company’s influence. As districts are powered, each player’s area develops to reflect the growth of their city influence.

Every district card offers an important choice. You can activate the district to build your network, or use its exchange ability to perform a powerful action at the cost of giving up the district. That card is then placed on The Exchange, where it may become available for another player to take.

• Use private agendas and activated districts to earn influence points.

Careful planning is essential, especially when deciding how to spend your energy and when to pursue an exchange action. Paying the exact amount for a district is rewarded, encouraging efficient use of resources rather than wasteful spending.

When a player activates their eighth district, the game enters its final round. At the end of Rise to Power, the company with the highest influence from activated districts and its private agenda controls the city’s power needs and wins.
