About this board game

Roll to the Top! is a dice game for 2–5 players that takes about 25 minutes, challenging everyone to complete a personal Challenge sheet by filling every square.

Each round, players roll some of the available 4-, 6-, 8-, 12-, and 20-sided dice. Use the results to build a sequence from the bottom of your sheet upward. Every new number must be higher than or equal to to the number beneath it, so each choice can affect the opportunities that follow.

A square may contain a number from a single die or the sum of two or more dice. You may also skip one or more dice, giving you additional ways to work with an unpredictable roll and continue progressing toward the top of your sheet.

• Fill every square on your Challenge sheet.
• Place numbers from bottom to top in non-decreasing order.
• Use individual dice, combine dice, or skip dice.
• Adapt to the changing dice available each round.

Before the next round, the special white die determines what the next player clockwise must do: add a die, remove a die, or swap a die before rolling. This keeps the selection of dice in motion and makes each round an opportunity to reassess your plan.

The central tactic in Roll to the Top! is creating the best possible opportunities from capricious dice. Anticipate useful combinations, manage the increasing values on your sheet, and try to turn each roll into a step toward completing your Challenge.
