About this board game

Rollway Station is a 45-minute solo roll-and-write for one player, inspired by the 18xx series of train games.

Across fifteen turns, you roll five dice and assign them to three different actions: buying shares, auctioning trains, and laying track. The values rolled determine the options available, making each turn a puzzle of how best to use an unpredictable result.

Every few turns, an operating round begins. The companies run the best routes they can, earning money based on the number of stops they make and the number of shares you own. Your goal is to build your earnings as effectively as possible and finish with the highest amount of money you can achieve.

Engineers provide another way to expand your network. They help lay additional track, but their assistance comes at a cost, so spending money now can affect your future decisions.

  • Three core actions: buy shares, auction trains, and lay track.
  • Three maps: each offers a different starting layout and special advanced rules.
  • Dice-driven play: five dice add unpredictability to every turn.

Rollway Station distils the investment, railway, and route-building ideas of 18xx into a compact solo experience. A multiplayer variant lets players use the same dice rolls while playing the standard solo game, then compare their final scores.

Released in 2020, it offers a focused way to explore train-company investing, track laying, and tactical decision-making within a 15-turn game.
