About this board game

Royale: Party at Louis’ is a 20-minute game for 1–4 players about serving food to rich, picky nobles at Louis XIV’s extravagant dinner.

As a royal waiter, you must carefully choose food from the serving tray in the middle of the table. On your turn, pick a row or column and provide its food to your nobles. Every selection matters, because these guests have very particular tastes.

Serve a noble something they do not enjoy, and they will trash every other food item in front of them. This creates a difficult balance between making progress and avoiding a mistake that can wipe away the food you have already served.

  • Choose food from rows or columns on the central serving tray.
  • Manage nobles with demanding preferences.
  • Complete meals to score points.
  • Try to serve every noble before the party ends.

Complete a meal that a noble enjoys and you score points. The challenge is not only to build satisfying meals, but also to do so before time runs out on the royal celebration. Will every noble be served, or will some leave the dinner with an empty stomach?

At night, the masquerade adds another attraction to the festivities, but the nobles must not be left waiting for their food. Royale: Party at Louis’ combines a shared serving tray, selective food choices, and unforgiving guests into a focused royal dinner challenge for a small group or solo play.
