Russia Besieged: Deluxe Edition is a 1–2 player army- and corps-level wargame covering the German campaign in the east from 1941 through 1945, with a campaign game that can take up to 1,200 minutes.

Players recreate the struggle across two large maps extending from Berlin to Archangel, Astrakhan, and Bucharest. The German player must decide whether to channel forces toward Leningrad, Moscow, or the oil-rich Caucasus, while the Russian player attempts to absorb the initial assault, preserve essential forces, and wait for opportunities to counter the advance.

The game combines operational movement and combat with strategic resource management. War Economy rules require Russia to manage troop and oil production, while Germany contends with replacement points and the challenge of rebuilding an effective mix of units. Early gains can give way to difficult advances, strategic withdrawal, and sudden-death victory conditions.

• Double-impulse movement and attack system with two impulses per turn
• Multi-weather turns, including the critical effects of snow
• Blitzkrieg attacks, unit breakdowns, surrounded cities, Volkssturm, and Partisans
• Turns representing two months, divided into monthly impulses

The Deluxe Edition includes a 35-by-47-inch two-piece map, three sheets of 5/8-inch counters totaling 528 counters, rules and playbook books, play aids, order-of-battle and setup cards, and a ten-sided die. Designed by Art Lupinacci and developed for this edition by Robert Beyma, Russia Besieged offers scenarios of two or more hours as well as a full campaign experience.
