About this expansion

Santorini: Proteus Promo Card is a promotional card for 2–3 players, released in 2017.

Offered during GenCon 2017, this card provides specific setup and movement instructions for the Workers. Its rules establish a three-Worker setup and introduce a forced movement effect after a Worker moves.

  • Setup: When placing your Workers, place 3 of your color.
  • Your Move: After your Worker moves, force one of your other Workers into the space just vacated.
  • Bans: Circe and Nemesis.

The setup rule changes the number of Workers placed by each player: place 3 of your color when placing your Workers. This instruction is part of the card’s defined setup and applies before the movement rule comes into play.

During the move sequence, once your Worker moves, you must force one of your other Workers into the space that Worker just left. The card therefore links the movement of one Worker to the immediate movement of another, using the vacated space as the destination.

Santorini: Proteus Promo Card also lists two bans: Circe and Nemesis. These names are included directly in the card’s rules as its banned combinations. With its clear setup instruction, follow-up Worker movement, and GenCon 2017 promotional release, Proteus is a compact addition for players using the Santorini system with 2–3 players.
