About this board game
SCRAP is a 2023 area control game for 2–4 players, with sessions lasting around 150 minutes. You lead an Intelligence—a collective of Bots newly awakened by the mysterious Singularity—and travel to the planet Seratus to uncover the truth behind the event and the Celestium it released into the galaxy.
Plan your turns using Action Queue Programming. Place Functions into a queue, resolve the Function at the front on each turn, and add a new one at the back. As you play, you acquire additional Functions, expanding your programming options while building a hand that supports both immediate actions and powerful abilities.
Every Function has two important roles. It provides a unique option for your Bots, and it can also serve as fuel for other powers: when you reveal a Function, you may discard one of a matching colour to gain a bonus effect. Careful Hand Management is essential, since Functions need time to refresh and you must plan Reboot turns in advance.
- Hidden bidding combat: secretly assign orders without dice or cards, choosing whether to probe, snipe, brace, or brawl.
- Asymmetric factions: choose from six unique Intelligences with distinct Functions and upgrades.
- Bot-driven area control: compete for influence across the map while gaining data whenever you destroy something.
Choose Vulkanos to crush the competition, Cerebrum to study your enemies, or Tachyon to manipulate the space-time continuum. With its blend of programming, hand building, hidden combat, and faction asymmetry, SCRAP offers a strategic science-fiction contest inspired by games including Cthulhu Wars, Inis, Scythe, Concordia, Rising Sun, Cry Havoc, Blood Rage, Mage Knight, and Spirit Island.
