About this board game

Scuttle! is a fast-playing pirate card game for 1–5 players, with games lasting about 10 minutes. Players scheme, battle, and steal as they race to collect 21 doubloons.

On each turn, choose whether to draw a card or play one. Every card can be used either as treasure or as an action, creating sharp choices throughout the game. You might draw two cards, steal an opponent’s treasure chest, or wipe the board while knowing that your own booty is protected.

Based on the classic game Cuttle, Scuttle! adds a high-seas theme and updated rules by Peter C. Hayward. Creative artwork by Kelly Jo gives this family-friendly game an adventurous pirate identity, while the rules are suitable for players as young as 6.

The Curse of Black Jack expansion adds a fourth suit, Anchors, along with two Jokers: Black Jack and Ghost Pirate. It also introduces the “Summon” action, which lets a player draw a card and play it immediately.

Adding the Anchors suit also gives the deck another use: it can be played as a standard deck of playing cards. Released in 2016, Scuttle! combines quick decisions, pirate-themed interaction, and accessible family play in a compact card game.
