About this board game
Second Front is a two-player strategic wargame with a listed playing time of 1440 minutes, depicting the western Allied campaigns in Italy, France, and Germany from 1943 through 1945. As Europa Game XII, it places the Allied coalition’s forces and the challenges of defeating the German armies under your command.
The game builds on the Europa System with a detailed ground operations system, improved air rules, and an expanded naval system featuring task forces and carrier groups. Airborne and amphibious invasion systems represent major elements of the Allied campaign, while political and strategic rules cover Allied cooperation, Italian surrender, and the collapse of Germany.
Second Front uses a two-week turn and a map scale of 16 miles per hex. Units are represented at divisional, regimental, brigade, and battalion scale, providing a detailed framework for planning operations across the European theater.
