About this board game

Second World War at Sea: Bomb Alley is a two-player World War II naval game about the three-year struggle between Britain’s Royal Navy and Italy’s Regia Marina for control of the Mediterranean Sea. Released in 2002, it is designed for an approximately 360-minute play time.

The game presents 50 scenarios covering a wide range of Mediterranean confrontations. These scenarios re-create major fleet actions, convoy operations, and smaller but memorable engagements from the conflict.

  • Battleship duels at Cape Teulada, First Sirte, Second Sirte, and Cape Matapan
  • The dangerous convoys sent to Malta
  • The Italian torpedo boat Lupo’s defeat of two British cruisers

Bomb Alley focuses on the naval contest between two major wartime fleets, bringing together famous battles and distinctive episodes from the Mediterranean campaign. Its scenario-based format offers a broad selection of historical situations rather than a single linear narrative.

For players interested in World War II naval history, the game comes from the team behind SOPAC and Midway. The result is a substantial two-player experience built around the pivotal struggle for Mediterranean sea control.

Second World War at Sea: Bomb Alley is currently out of print, and this edition is not returning to production. A newer, larger game called Regia Marina is in print as its successor in this subject area.
