About this expansion

Set a Watch: Outriders Expansion is an expansion for 1–4 players with a listed play time of 75 minutes. Released in 2021, it adds new creatures, Unhallowed, and a distinctive mechanic to games of the original Set a Watch and Swords of the Coin.

The expansion includes 34 new creatures and 6 new Unhallowed, all illustrated by Alexandr Elichev. Its central addition is the Rider ability, which changes how certain creatures interact when they are adjacent to one another.

Creatures with the Rider ability snap together with specific creature types. For example, a Beast Rider card snaps onto and is placed over any adjacent Forest Creature, creating a larger and more powerful creature.

When Riders combine with other creatures, the line becomes shorter. That change can cause additional creature powers to trigger, making the position of a Forest Creature in first position less safe than before.

With its new combinations and altered creature-line interactions, Set a Watch: Outriders Expansion gives existing games a fresh set of threats to manage. The Rider ability makes adjacency especially important as creatures join together and their powers come into play.
