About this board game

Seven Prophecies is a betting trick-taking card game for 3–4 players, with a play time of about 35 minutes. Across 7 to 10 tricks, players attempt to predict the future: not simply how many tricks they will win, but how often they will finish in each position.

Before play begins, each player examines their hand and announces a complete prediction. This prediction might include coming 1st twice, 2nd once, 3rd once, and 4th three times. The aim is to make that forecast come true before anyone else does.

Seven Prophecies gives players unusual information before the tricks start. You know the lead suit for every trick—the color of the card that will be played first—so you can compare the upcoming sequence with the cards in your hand. That insight helps you judge which tricks you are likely to win and where you may finish.

  • Betting trick-taking gameplay for 3–4 players
  • 7–10 tricks in each game
  • Predictions based on finishing places, including 1st, 2nd, and other positions
  • Known lead suits that support strategic forecasting

Knowing the future does not make victory easy. Every player has access to the same information and is trying to interpret the likely results. You must therefore read the cards, assess your own chances, and anticipate what your opponents believe will happen.

The first player to fulfill their prediction scores points, turning each trick into a race between competing forecasts. Released in 2017, Seven Prophecies combines planning, deduction, and trick-taking tension in a compact contest to see whose vision of the future proves correct.
