About this board game

Shadow Kingdoms of Valeria is a strategy game for 1–5 players, with games lasting about 75 minutes. As a Warden seeking to destroy Valeria, you must outwit rival Wardens and earn the right to command an army for the Shadow Kingdoms.

On every turn, move your Warden from its current location to a new one. Entering one of the five Shrines lets you take an available die from that Shrine and place it on your player board before performing the Shrine’s associated action.

These dark Shrines provide the tools needed to fuel your war machine, including minions, magic, gems, and gold. The game features five troop types, each represented by a different die color:

• Goblin — green
• Orc — red
• Skeleton — white
• Gargoyle — purple
• Gnoll — brown

When your forces are ready, send your Warden to the Camp on your player board. There, use your minion dice to resolve battle plans and place Victory tokens on your Campaign board. Command monsters into battle, conquer the lands, and build your score as the conflict spreads across Valeria.

Every Warden is competing for the same ultimate prize: the highest total of Victory Points. At the end of the game, the player with the most Victory Points is declared the winner. With its movement choices, Shrine actions, colored troop dice, and campaign-focused battles, Shadow Kingdoms of Valeria puts you in command of a dark army fighting to bring forth the reign of the Shadow Kingdoms.
