About this board game
SHIBUYA is a competitive puzzle game for 2 players, or 4 players in two teams, with games lasting about 40 minutes. Set at Tokyo’s famous Shibuya pedestrian scramble, it challenges players to guide their pedestrians across the street to their destinations.
Before movement begins, players place tiles to create the pedestrian crossing. This shared puzzle layout determines how routes connect, making the construction of the scramble an important part of the challenge.
Pedestrians can move across adjoining grid cells when those cells share the same color or the same shape. When a route remains connected, a pedestrian can continue moving along it. However, pedestrians cannot move onto cells currently occupied by other pedestrians, so busy routes can quickly become difficult to navigate.
- Competitive puzzle gameplay for 2 players
- Team play for 4 players in a 2-vs-2 format
- A tile-placement stage that forms the pedestrian scramble
- Movement based on matching colors or shapes
- Blocked routes created by occupied cells
As people rush in different directions, players must search for an effective path through the crowded crossing. The goal is to find the best available route while dealing with the positions of other pedestrians.
In SHIBUYA, the winner is the player or team that succeeds in getting their pedestrians across to the other side. Released in 2017, this focused two-player puzzle also supports a four-player team game, offering a shared challenge built around route-finding, tile connections, and careful movement through a crowded grid.
