About this board game

Shogun Solitaire is a solo card game for one player, designed to be played in about 30 minutes. Your mission is to lead a coalition of four clans and unite feudal Japan under a single Shogun.

Each clan has its own board and three objective locations arranged from bottom to top: port, village, and castle. Three objective counters for each clan begin on its board and are removed as those locations are seized.

To claim an objective, you must play three Shogun cards of the same color in a row. This central requirement makes the order of your plays important as you work toward securing every location across all four territories.

  • Players: 1
  • Play time: approximately 30 minutes
  • Release year: 2025
  • Objective: seize all three objectives for each of the four clans

The goal of Shogun Solitaire is complete unification. Each clan must secure its port, village, and castle before the feudal territories can stand together under one ruler.

With its focused solo format and clear objective structure, the game challenges you to deploy armies in strategic combinations and outsmart your enemies. Every successful sequence of matching Shogun cards brings another objective closer to your control—and the title of Shogun within reach.
